Swami Atmajnananda joined the Vedanta Society of Southern California in 1981 and spent first 16 years at the branch center in Trabuco Canyon, CA. He received Brahmacharya vows in 1992 and sanyasa vows in 1996 at Belur Math in India. He was transferred to the newly formed Vedanta center of Greater Washington, DC in 1997 and is still serving there.
